Return of the Ancient Council Ways: Indigenous Survival in Chiapas
Of Canadian Mohawk descent, Ohki Simine Forest went to study with Mongolian shamans and ultimately moved to Chiapas, Mexico, where she was initiated into the world of Mayan healers. In 1994, she created a spiritual center in Chiapas and a non-profit aimed at helping Mayan indigenous communities. She explains the vital importance of the Mayan resistance and the applicability of their ancient council ways as a model for all humanity.
